Engagement velocity scoring per prospect and account

A sales manager or AE wants engagement trend signals (accelerating, holding, decelerating) per prospect or account, not just snapshot engagement scores.

Snapshot engagement scores are the dashboard cliché. A prospect with a score of 65 might be a cold prospect warming up rapidly (very interesting) or a hot prospect cooling down (concerning) or a steady-state prospect (neutral). The snapshot can't tell.

Engagement velocity scoring is the trend layer. Per-prospect, per-account, per-deal. Acceleration is the signal worth acting on; deceleration is the signal worth addressing.

What it does

Computes per-prospect engagement velocity (7-day, 30-day, 90-day deltas) and surfaces acceleration and deceleration patterns in the dashboard. Combines with absolute engagement score for the full picture.

Why it matters in 2026

  • Acceleration is the high-conversion signal that snapshot scoring misses
  • Deceleration is the at-risk signal that catches problems earlier than absolute score thresholds
  • Velocity-grounded prioritisation surfaces the right prospects per day without manual triage
  • Renewal-motion timing depends on champion engagement velocity decay, not absolute score

How it works

Outsolvi's engagement model computes a rolling engagement score per prospect (confidence-scored opens, weighted clicks, reply sentiment, document engagement). The velocity model computes deltas over 7-day, 30-day, and 90-day windows. Acceleration above a threshold fires a hot-prospect alert; deceleration below a threshold fires an at-risk alert. Thresholds are tuned per-team to match the team's typical engagement-velocity distribution.

How competitors handle this

Yesware and HubSpot Sales Hub have absolute engagement scoring but lack velocity layers. Salesloft has cadence-level velocity but not per-prospect. Outreach.io has account-level velocity but not per-stakeholder. Outsolvi's per-prospect engagement velocity is structurally distinctive.

Use cases for Engagement Velocity

  • Daily prospect prioritisation for AEs working 30-100 active leads
  • Quarterly renewal-motion planning for CSMs
  • Stalled-deal recovery (see /workflows/stalled-deal-recovery)
  • Cadence A/B testing where velocity lift is the success metric, not snapshot opens

Frequently asked questions

How fast does velocity stabilize on a new prospect?+

Typically 3-5 engagement events. Below that the velocity score is noisy. The dashboard marks low-confidence velocity scores with a 'limited data' flag.

Can I configure velocity thresholds per team?+

Yes. Teams Pro tier supports per-team threshold configuration so an early-stage startup with 50 active leads can use different thresholds than an enterprise team with 5000.

Nate built Outsolvi after watching every email-tracking tool he had ever used lie to him about opens. Outsolvi runs Tier 1 to 5 confidence scoring on every open, native in Outlook and Gmail, so the number on the dashboard is one a rep can actually act on.
