Why the count is different
Opens graded, not just counted
Plenty of “opens” are machines: Apple Mail loading images for privacy, and corporate security gateways testing every link before a person sees the email. Outsolvi grades each open and counts only the ones a person most likely made.

Signals only a person produces, such as a reply on the thread.

A normal open, including one made through Gmail's image proxy.

Set up in a few minutes
Outsolvi isn’t in Microsoft’s add-in store. You install it from your Outsolvi account, and which add-in you use depends on your Outlook.
Classic Outlook for Windows
- 1In your Outsolvi account, open Get Add-in and download the desktop installer.
- 2Save any drafts first, because the installer closes Outlook. It needs admin rights on the PC, and Windows may warn that the publisher is unknown.
- 3Reopen Outlook, click Outsolvi on the ribbon and sign in. Your next email is tracked.
Needs 64-bit Outlook 2016 or later, including Microsoft 365 and the LTSC versions.
Outlook on the web and the new Outlook
- 1In your Outsolvi account, open Get Add-in and download the web add-in file.
- 2In Outlook, open Get Add-ins (Apps in the new Outlook), then My add-ins, Add a custom add-in, Add from file.
- 3Open a new email, click Outsolvi and sign in. Your next email is tracked.

What Outsolvi keeps
Tracking records the recipient, the subject and each open and click. It doesn’t store the body of the email you track. Follow-ups you send through Outsolvi keep their text, and a mailbox you connect so replies can stop a sequence is synced and stored, encrypted.
Data is hosted in the US, encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.2 or 1.3. Security controls follow SOC 2 criteria; there hasn’t been a SOC 2 audit yet. Security details.

Questions about Outsolvi in Outlook
Is Outsolvi in the Microsoft add-in store?
No. You install it from your Outsolvi account. For classic Outlook for Windows, download the desktop installer. For Outlook on the web and the new Outlook, download the web add-in file and add it with Add a custom add-in, or have your IT admin deploy it from the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Does it work in the new Outlook?
Yes, with the web add-in, on a Microsoft 365 work or school account. Its button sits under Apps rather than on the main ribbon.
Does it work on a Mac?
Not yet. Outlook for Mac can't add tracking when you send today. On a Mac, send from Outlook on the web in your browser, where the web add-in works.
Does it work in Outlook on iPhone or Android?
No. The add-ins run on a computer: classic Outlook for Windows, the new Outlook and Outlook on the web. Your recipients can read on any device, and their opens are still recorded.
Which Outlook versions can't run it?
Outlook for Mac, 32-bit classic Outlook, Outlook 2013 and older, the phone apps, and mailboxes on on-premises Exchange in Outlook on the web or the new Outlook.
Do I need IT to install it?
It depends on your Outlook. The desktop add-in for classic Outlook needs admin rights on the PC, so on many company laptops IT runs it. The web add-in usually doesn't need IT: most Microsoft 365 accounts can add a custom add-in, and if that's switched off, an admin can deploy it from the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Will Windows warn me when I install the desktop add-in?
It may. The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows can show an unknown-publisher warning, and it asks for admin rights. It also closes Outlook while it installs, so save any drafts first.
Does Outsolvi read my emails?
Tracking doesn't. It records the recipient, the subject and each open and click, not the body. Follow-ups you send through Outsolvi, and mail synced from a mailbox you connect so replies stop a sequence, are stored, encrypted.
How is this different from an Outlook read receipt?
A read receipt asks the recipient to confirm they opened your email, and they can say no. Tracking records opens and clicks without a prompt, and Outsolvi grades each one so you know which were people.
What happens with Apple Mail opens?
When a recipient uses Apple Mail with Mail Privacy Protection on, Apple loads your tracking pixel whether they read the email or not. Outsolvi labels that open Apple Mail and leaves it out of your open count, unless the same person also clicks a link or replies, which shows they read it.
Do follow-ups stop when someone replies?
Yes, once your mailbox is connected with permission to read mail. Outsolvi checks for replies every few minutes and cancels any follow-up still waiting. Some companies need an IT admin to approve that permission first, and Outsolvi tells you when yours does.
How much does it cost?
