How to track emails in New Outlook
New Outlook is Microsoft's web-tech-based successor to classic Outlook Desktop. The structural change: only Office.js add-ins load. Legacy COM and VSTO add-ins are silently ignored. Any tracker that hasn't migrated to Office.js stops working when you switch to New Outlook.
Outsolvi is an Office add-in, so it runs in the new Outlook. It isn't listed in Microsoft's add-in store, so you add it from a file you download from your Outsolvi account. This guide covers the new Outlook specifically.

Step-by-step

Download the Outsolvi add-in file
Sign in at my.outsolvi.com, open Add-ins in the left sidebar and pick Outlook Web / New Outlook. Save the .xml manifest file without renaming or editing it.

Open Apps in the new Outlook
Open any email, click ... (More actions), then Apps. Apps is the new Outlook's name for Get Add-ins.

Add it as a custom add-in
Go to My add-ins, scroll to Custom Add-ins, click Add a custom add-in, choose Add from file and select the .xml. Click Install.

Sign in to Outsolvi
Open a new email and click the Outsolvi button under Apps to open the panel. Sign in with your Outsolvi account; if you're new, the prompt links to a 14-day free trial.

Send yourself a test email
Send a test to an address you control and check that it shows as tracked in your Outsolvi dashboard. If it doesn't, ask your Microsoft 365 admin to deploy the add-in for you. After that, write and send as normal.

Troubleshooting
Tracker I used on classic Outlook stopped working in New Outlook
The tracker is COM-only and doesn't have an Office.js version. Switch to a tracker with native Office.js support (Outsolvi is one option). The classic-Outlook version will not work in New Outlook.
The Outsolvi button doesn't appear
In the new Outlook the button lives under Apps, not on the main ribbon. Close and reopen the email. If it's still missing, check My add-ins, Custom Add-ins, and add it again from the .xml file.
Your company blocks custom add-ins
Ask your IT admin to deploy Outsolvi from the Microsoft 365 admin center (Settings, Integrated apps, Add-ins, Deploy Add-in, Upload custom apps). They upload the same .xml once and choose who gets it. The new Outlook follows the same admin policies as classic Outlook.

Is New Outlook replacing classic Outlook?
Microsoft has stated New Outlook is the future client. For business users, the phase where New Outlook becomes the default (with a switch back to classic) now starts in March 2027. Microsoft has not announced when classic Outlook will be turned off, has promised at least 12 months of notice, and says existing classic installs will be supported until at least 2029.
Does Outsolvi look the same on New Outlook vs classic?
No. Classic Outlook uses a separate desktop add-in with its own ribbon button, side panel and pop-ups. The new Outlook uses the web add-in, which doesn't track in classic.
What if I have to go back to classic Outlook?
Install the desktop add-in from your dashboard. The web add-in may still show up in classic Outlook, since it belongs to your mailbox, but it won't track there.
