Open Rate Accuracy Checker

Takes your reported open rate and the composition of your recipient list, and estimates what the real human-read rate is after filtering MPP pre-fetches, Gmail proxy duplicates, and corporate-scanner traffic.

Estimated real human-read rate
35-49%
Your raw 70% open rate likely contains 28 percentage points of Apple MPP, Gmail proxy, and scanner pre-fetches.

You ran the math. Outsolvi makes it real.

Calculators tell you what the number should be. Outsolvi tells you what your number actually is. confidence-scored opens, real reply sentiment, live deal-level signal across Outlook and Gmail. From $7/user/mo yearly, 14-day free trial.

What it does

Estimates what share of your recorded opens were machines rather than people, then shows the human-read rate underneath. Apple Mail Privacy Protection pre-fetches and corporate security scanners are the two large sources, so the estimate scales with how much of your list sits behind each. Output is a range, because the exact split depends on list composition.

When to use

When your reported open rate doesn't match your reply rate (e.g., 70% opens with 8% replies suggests inflation). The real-rate estimate aligns the metrics.

How to use it

  1. 1
    Enter your reported open rate
Pull from your current tracker's dashboard.
  2. 2
    Specify list composition
Approximate % iPhone users, % Gmail web users, % corporate addresses.
  3. 3
    Read the real-rate range
Tool outputs a low/high band, your true human-read rate falls inside it.

Common use cases

  • Sanity-checking a campaign that 'over-performed' on opens
  • Justifying a tool switch by quantifying current measurement error
  • Calibrating sequence-stop thresholds based on real engagement, not inflated metric

FAQ

Why is reply rate the cleaner side-by-side signal?+

Reply rate depends on the human actually engaging, so it survives the open-tracking distortion. Open rate is contaminated by MPP, Gmail proxy, and scanners; reply rate is not.

What inflation factor should I use for a corporate-heavy list?+

Higher. Corporate email scanners (Microsoft Defender, Mimecast, Proofpoint) often pre-open every link and image as part of security scanning. Add 15-25 percentage points of inflation on top of the MPP/Gmail baseline for any list that's 50%+ enterprise recipients.

Will my real rate ever look 'good' again?+

Yes, once you measure correctly. A real 25% human-read rate on cold outbound is excellent; teams reporting 65% inflated rates often have 20-30% real rates, which is the actual industry top quartile. Calibrating expectations matters as much as fixing the measurement.

Nate SummersCo-Founder, Outsolvi

Nate built Outsolvi after watching every email-tracking tool he had ever used lie to him about opens. Outsolvi runs Tier 1 to 5 confidence scoring on every open, native in Outlook and Gmail, so the number on the dashboard is one a rep can actually act on.
