Diagnose: see why every open counted
Someone landing here has been burned by an email tracker before. They saw an open, called the prospect, and the prospect had never seen the email. They are looking for a tracker whose numbers they can actually verify instead of taking on faith.
Every email tracker shows you a number. Almost none of them can show you where the number came from. When your tracker says a proposal was opened 47 times, you have two options: trust it, or ignore it. Neither is great when a real deal is on the line.
Diagnose is Outsolvi's answer. Click any open in your dashboard and you get the evidence behind the decision, written in plain words: what fired, when it fired relative to your send, what kind of device or system it came from, and why the model concluded it was a person reading your email or a machine peeking at it. If we filtered an open out, you can see that too, along with the reason.
What it does
Diagnose turns every open event into an explanation. Instead of a bare timestamp, each open carries its tier (1 through 5), its confidence percentage, and a plain-language readout of the signals behind the grade. It works for counted opens and filtered opens alike, so you can audit both what we told you and what we chose not to tell you.
Why it matters in 2026
- Trust in tracking numbers is broken. Apple Mail Privacy Protection, Gmail's image proxy, and corporate security scanners generate machine opens on most B2B sends, and a tracker that counts them all is quietly lying to you.
- A superlative like 'most accurate' is just marketing. An open you can click and audit yourself is proof. Diagnose exists so you never have to take our count on faith.
- When a rep sees why an open counted, they act on it with conviction. A Tier 1 open with a clean human signature at 9:14am is worth a call. Knowing that difference is the whole point of tracking.
- Filtered opens matter too. If a prospect's company scanner pre-fetches every email, Diagnose shows you that pattern, which tells you their raw open data was never going to be usable and reply signals should drive your follow-up instead.
How it works
Each open event is graded by the same Tier 1 to 5 confidence model described on the confidence-scoring page: request timing relative to send, network origin, and client signature patterns that separate human reads from machine pre-fetches. Diagnose exposes that grading per event. In the dashboard, expand any open and you see the tier, the confidence percentage, and the plain-words explanation of the deciding signals. Nothing extra to configure and nothing to turn on; the evidence view ships with every plan.
No other mainstream email tracker in 2026 exposes per-open evidence to the user. Yesware Premium and HubSpot Sales Hub filter some machine opens internally but show only the final count, so you cannot audit an individual open. Mailtrack, Mixmax, Streak, GMass, and Right Inbox show every pixel load as an open with no filtering view at all. The honest framing: every vendor has to make judgment calls about what counts as an open. Outsolvi is the one that lets you check its homework.
Use cases for Diagnose
- Sanity-checking a hot deal: before you call a prospect because 'they opened it 5 times', verify the opens are Tier 1 human reads and not one person plus four scanner fetches
- Diagnosing a quiet list: if a whole account's opens grade as scanner traffic, you know to judge that account by replies and clicks instead of opens
- Proving value to a skeptical teammate or manager who has been burned by inflated open rates in a previous tool
- Auditing a migration: run Outsolvi next to your old tracker for a week and use Diagnose to see exactly which of the old tool's opens were machines
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a special plan to use Diagnose?+
No. The per-open evidence view ships with every plan, including the 14-day free trial. It is core to how Outsolvi works, not an upsell.
Can Diagnose be wrong?+
The model agrees with human-rated classifications roughly 95 to 98 percent of the time on B2B traffic, so yes, edge cases exist. That is exactly why the evidence view exists: when a grade looks off to you, you can see the reasoning and judge for yourself instead of arguing with a black box.
Does it show filtered opens too?+
Yes. Opens that fell below the confidence floor are visible with their reason for exclusion. You always get the full picture: what we counted, what we filtered, and why.
Does Diagnose work in both Outlook and Gmail?+
Yes. The evidence view lives in the Outsolvi dashboard and covers every tracked send regardless of whether it went out through the Outlook add-in, the Gmail extension, or the web app.

Other Outsolvi features
Nate built Outsolvi after watching every email-tracking tool he had ever used lie to him about opens. Outsolvi runs Tier 1 to 5 confidence scoring on every open, native in Outlook and Gmail, so the number on the dashboard is one a rep can actually act on.
