PTR Record Checker

Enter your sending IP. The tool returns the PTR record, validates it matches the forward (A) record for the sending hostname, and flags missing or mismatched PTR.

What it does

Reverse DNS lookup on the sending IP. Forward lookup on the returned hostname. Compares the two. Flags the FCrDNS mismatch that many MTAs treat as a hard reject signal.

When to use

Setting up a new self-hosted MTA. Diagnosing why mail from a dedicated IP suddenly hit spam after weeks of fine delivery.

FAQ

Who sets the PTR record?+

Your IP provider (hosting company, ISP, dedicated-IP provider). You can't set it from your own DNS — you have to request it via the provider's control panel or support.

You validated the setup. Want the live monitor that watches it forever?

One-time validation catches today's misconfiguration. Outsolvi watches every send forever and flags the day your record stops passing, the day a sender goes rogue, or the day a bounce pattern shifts. From $7/user/mo yearly.
