Reply Sentiment Analysis
Reply sentiment analysis is an AI classifier applied to inbound email replies that labels each reply as positive, negative, or neutral. Positive indicates buying intent or interest, negative indicates rejection or unsubscribe, neutral covers scheduling, questions, and out-of-office. Modern transformer-based classifiers reach 88 to 94 percent agreement with human-rated labels on B2B sales reply traffic.
For a long time, reply sentiment was a Yesware Premium feature at `$35` per user per month. In 2026 the underlying transformer models have commoditised the capability and it has moved to base-tier on AI-native trackers. Outsolvi includes reply sentiment in the `$7`/mo yearly tier; Yesware still gates it to Premium.
How it works
Inbound replies arrive at the tracker via mailbox sync (Office.js, Gmail API, or IMAP). The reply text is extracted, common boilerplate (signatures, threading, disclaimers) is stripped, and the cleaned body is passed to a sentiment classifier. The classifier outputs one of three labels with a confidence score:
- Positive: reply expresses interest, agreement to next step, or request for more info
- Negative: rejection, unsubscribe, or hostile response
- Neutral: scheduling, factual question, out-of-office, or unrelated content
Why it matters
A 100-reply daily intake is too much for a rep to triage manually with care. Sentiment labels let the rep focus on positives first, batch the neutrals, and process negatives as suppression. The lift is 15 to 25 percent more positive replies converted to meetings on benchmarks Outsolvi has measured.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is sentiment classification?+
88 to 94 percent on B2B reply traffic compared to human-rated labels. False positives (rejection classified as positive) are under 3 percent in well-tuned models.
Does the model read my reply for any other purpose?+
No. The body is processed in-memory for classification and discarded. Only the label and confidence are stored. Body text never lands in Outsolvi's database.
