Received Header Chain Parser

Each Received header is one hop. Parsing them in order shows the message's journey from origin MTA to final delivery — useful for delays and spoofing checks.

2 hop(s), origin → destination
  1. Hop 2: from internal.sender.com → by mail.sender.com

  2. Hop 1: from mail.sender.com → by mx.gmail.com
    Sun, 25 May 2026 08:00:01 -0700
What it does

Parses each Received line (from, by, with, id, for, timestamp). Computes hop-to-hop delay. Flags suspicious gaps and unexpected jurisdictions.

When to use

Investigating slow delivery. Investigating suspected spoofing or relay abuse.
